Introducing MEOVV: Your Next Potential K-pop Obsession

Capitol Records, in collaboration with THEBLACKLABEL, has officially unveiled MEOVV, a promising new K-pop girl group that is already creating significant industry and fan buzz. Pronounced “meow,” this five-member ensemble is the brainchild of renowned producer Teddy Park, (better known as TEDDY), who has an impressive track record with influential stars like BIGBANG, G-Dragon, BLACKPINK, and, of course, 2NE1.

Upon revealing MEOVV's name on August 15th, the official news of the long-awaited group sparked a wave of excitement among K-pop enthusiasts and media alike, with people eager to learn more about the vision of this highly trained and well-connected ensemble. Almost immediately, visual elements began to play a crucial role in the group's introduction, depicting an animated graphic featuring a charming cat paw, complete with piercings and charms.

Additionally, an engaging animated sequence showcased the Seoul headquarters of THEBLACKLABEL, depicting it overtaken by oversized (and undeniably adorable) black cats. Coincidentally, these feline figures were recently spotted atop the iconic Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, adding a playful touch to their promotional efforts.

Each member of MEOVV has been unveiled through a series of intimate teaser trailers. "EYES OF MEOVV" started the reveal, drawing in fans with close-up shots of each idol, followed by individual short films that highlighted their unique personalities and talents. To date, the combined views on these teasers have already exceeded 56 million, highlighting the immense anticipation building around the group's debut.

In terms of its roster, MEOVV consists of five dynamic members: Sooin, Gawon, Anna, Ella, and Narin, each staking their claim as next-gen idols with distinctive artistic qualities — teasing a balance of both fierce and smooth performances augmenting their captivating presence in their respective teasers. And now that we know who’s in the group, their skillset, and its infectious concept, we just have to wait a little bit longer for MEOVV’s official debut this September.
