K-pop Group CLOSE YOUR EYES Shines with Their Debut Anthem "All My Poetry"

CLOSE YOUR EYES (CYE) burst onto the K-pop scene on April 2, 2025, with their debut mini-album Eternalt and its lead single "All My Poetry." Formed through JTBC’s survival show Project 7, which aired from October to December 2024, the seven-member group—Jeon Min-wook, Ma Jingxiang, Jang Yeo-jun, Kim Sung-min, Song Seung-ho, Kenshin, and Seo Kyoung-bae—has quickly captured attention with a sound that feels both nostalgic and new. Managed by Uncore, CYE’s debut is a standout moment in the fifth generation of K-pop, blending relaxed throwback vibes with a shimmery modern twist.

Sonically, "All My Poetry" is a vibey pop/R&B hybrid that evokes early 2000s K-pop charm, reminiscent of glistening mid-tempos that once dominated the scene. Unlike the high-energy, hip-hop-infused debuts typical of rookie boy groups, this track opts for a chill, emotive groove. Its smooth vocal arrangements and lush production create a breezy, springtime anthem—perfect for blooming playlists and a tantalizing precursor to summer jams. The song’s melody, with its addictive “then I loop back” hook, pairs clear, soulful vocals with a laid-back beat, offering a refreshing departure from the genre’s current dance-heavy trends.

The music video, released alongside the track, perfectly complements the song’s take on a retro-modern vibe. Shot in soft pastel hues through a series of hazy atmospheres, the group balances carefree energy with sharp choreography to showcase their well-rounded potential as a rookie group.

Under the creative direction of Lee Haein, CYE is already carving a distinct identity. Just six days after their debut, "All My Poetry" clinched their first music show win on SBS M’s The Show on April 8, marking one of the fastest victories for a rookie group. So, with Eternalt presenting their R&B skills and pop versatility, CLOSE YOUR EYES is already poised to be a name to watch.
