&TEAM’s ‘We on Fire’ Feels Like Another Defining Step for the Group

&TEAM’s We on Fire comes with the kind of commercial headline most groups would love to have, but the impressive sales figures only tell part of the story. Released on April 21 as the group’s third EP, the six-track project is purposeful from start to finish, with its pacing, concept, and overall execution offering a sharper view of the identity &TEAM has been steadily refining for nearly four years now.

Why &TEAM’s We on Fire EP Ultimately Succeeds

One of the project’s biggest strengths is its range. The title track pushes with a harder edge, while the rest of the EP moves through different moods and textures that let the group show more of its reach without stretching the record too thin. Rock and hip-hop elements drive “We on Fire,” while “Bewitched” leans further into heavier rock touches—both of which come with Korean versions on the EP.

Then “HOTLINE” (a personal favorite) brings in a more playful, 00s pop energy, and “Sakura-iro Yell” softens the atmosphere with a more emotional pull. Together, those shifts give the EP dimension and keep it from sitting in one mode for too long. And for a group like &TEAM, whose work tends to connect best when performance, tone, and feeling work together, that balance makes a massive difference in execution.

We on Fire also fits naturally into the larger framework the group has been building since their debut era. &TEAM have long treated storytelling as part of the music’s foundation, not just an extra layer placed around it, and this release continues that through another chapter tied to HYBE’s DARK MOON universe. Additionally, the EP’s focus on growth, unity, and the marks left behind by struggle gives it a strong thematic anchor, one that feels especially suited to where the group is right now.

The group’s first-day sales only reinforce what the music already suggests. According to Hanteo Chart data reported on April 22, We on Fire sold an impressive 1,090,261 copies on its first day and topped the chart’s daily album ranking, giving &TEAM their third consecutive million-selling release after Go in Blind and Back to Life. It is a huge result, obviously, but more importantly, it reflects a promising pattern. &TEAM is continuing to build trust with listeners while becoming more defined in their artistic direction, and that combination is a powerful one.

Next month, the group’s second Asia tour, BLAZE THE WAY, begins May 13 at K-Arena Yokohama, which also gives We on Fire an immediate chance to grow beyond release week and take shape in front of live audiences across multiple cities. But sales, concerts, and chart positions aside, We on Fire feels like a strong, well-built project from a group that keeps getting more assured with every release.
